It is these personalities that turn an otherwise plain story into a bold journey.
You can feel a true sense of countless values that each character stands up for, be it sharpened recklessness, unwavering loyalty, brazen charisma, scheming treachery, heartless cruelty.and so much more. However, the cast of characters augment both the heroics and plights very well. The plot itself is rather basic: samurai clans throughout the world are competing for land and glory, ultimately boiling down to a "good vs evil" scenario. If I could pinpoint one thing that drives the story, it would be the personalities of the characters. This experience is renewed with every character you are introduced to in Sengoku Basara.
Instantly, you can tell there is something special about these two their unique manners of speech and actions, traits not fully revealed yet imploring you to discover more. You can't help but be held captive by the two lead characters, Date Masamune and Sanada Yukimura, as they are brought to light. The first episode of Sengoku Basara, or "Samurai Kings", simply explodes at you.
